Man, 38, arrested for threatening to kill ECG staff

A resident of Nzema in the Kwadaso Municipality of the Ashanti Region, Frank Mensah, is in the grips of the police for threatening to kill personnel of the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) for confronting him over power theft.

ECG withdraws services in Krobo area over threats

Workers of the Electricity Company of Ghana(ECG) in the Yilo Krobo and Lower Manya Krobo areas in the Eastern Region have withdrawn their services over safety concerns following threats of attacks and vandalism targeted at them and their offices by some irate residents.

ECG disconnects power to over 50 houses in Shama

The Sekondi District Monitoring and Disconnection Team of the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has disconnected power supply to over 50 houses in the Shama District due to illegal connections.

Mr Noah Dake, the Sekondi District Manager of ECG, who made this known to the media, said the exercise was to enable the company to recover monies lost due to illegal connection and other anomalies in the area.

Tema South ECG to disconnect power from slums

The Tema South District of the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has disclosed that it would soon embark on a disconnection exercise in slums within its jurisdiction.

Mr Christopher Apawu, ECG Tema South District Engineer, disclosing this during the third ordinary meeting of the second session of the Tema Metropolitan Assembly (TMA), said the haphazard power connections in slums was a waiting disaster therefore the need to remove all the cables.
